Sandy Hill Construction started out in 1995 as a small construction business servicing the needs of the Sandy Hill neighbourhood in Ottawa. Initially, our focus was on historical restoration projects. Over the years, we grew into one of Ottawa’s most successful design-build firms.
A dedicated team with sound experience and in-depth knowledge of the construction process, Sandy Hill Construction offers a highly personalized design-build experience. Led by award-winning renovator, John Wenuk, the company takes great pride in their exceptional work.
We put our clients’ needs first, understanding all of their requirements, and working closely them to bring their vision to life. Proven leadership, clear communication, positive experiences and solid relationships are what we are all about.
A FEW WORDS FROM THE OWNER
It fascinates me that every neighbourhood in Ottawa has its own general identity and building style. Many properties that were built around the turn of the century have similar age-related requirements. I see similar challenges and solutions in each neighbourhood as we rebuild Ottawa from foundation to roof peak, one house at a time.
When we first started operating in the Sandy Hill area in 1993, referrals soon led us into The Glebe, Centretown, Old Ottawa South, New Edinburgh, Rockcliffe Park, Alta Vista and Lowertown. We became known westward through Hintonburg, Westboro, Hampton Park, and Highland Park to Brittania. Over this last 20 years, we gradually worked our way into many of the established neighbourhoods in Ottawa, one recommendation at a time. We learned about the structure and peculiarities of homes built from 1850 to 1980 on a one-by-one basis. And we're still learning!
